What is this?

The AI Assist tab in Platform Settings is an information page about AI Assist — the in-dashboard Assistant that answers questions from your documentation and can take actions for the user. It has no settings of its own: it shows what the feature does, whether it is enabled, and a shortcut to Platform Visibility, where you control who sees it.
This tab requires the AI Assist add-on on your installation and platform. If it isn’t available, the tab shows a lock icon and a message that AI Assist is not included in your current plan — contact support or purchase the add-on to enable it.

What can I do here?

  • Read what AI Assist does: users open it from the dashboard and ask in plain language, and it can only do what the user’s own permissions allow
  • Check the Enabled badge to confirm the feature is available on your platform
  • Click Platform Visibility to open the visibility settings and control whether the feature is shown to users

How to use it

  1. Go to Platform Settings and open the AI Assist tab.
  2. Check that the Enabled badge is showing. If you see the lock icon instead, the add-on isn’t active.
  3. To show or hide AI Assist for users, click Platform Visibility (or open that tab) and change the AI Assist setting. See Platform Visibility.
  4. To give a customer access, turn on the AI Assist feature for them: it is a row on the user’s Features tab under Platform Users, or in the plan itself under Platform Plans.
For how users work with the Assistant, see AI Assistant.

Troubleshooting / Technical Notes

  • The tab shows a lock icon. The AI Assist add-on isn’t active for your installation or platform. Purchase or enable the add-on.
  • Users see a locked Assistant button. The button stays visible but locked when AI Assist isn’t included in their plan — add the AI Assist feature to the plan, or check Platform Visibility.
  • I can’t find any AI Assist settings to change. That’s expected — this tab is informational only.
