What is this?

The Threads tab in Platform Settings holds the Threads app your customers connect their profiles with. It covers login, publishing, replies, mentions and insights.
This tab requires Threads to be enabled for your platform. If it isn’t, the tab shows Threads is not enabled for this platform. Contact support to enable it.

What can I do here?

  • Enter the Threads app ID and Threads app secret
  • Copy the Redirect, Uninstall, Delete and Webhook callback URLs and the Webhook verify token to paste into Meta
  • Turn Threads On or Off for your customers

How to use it

1

Create the Threads app

In the Meta App Dashboard, create an app with the Access the Threads API use case.
2

Add the callback URLs

In the use case settings, add the Redirect callback URL, Uninstall callback URL and Delete callback URL shown on this page. Use the copy buttons.
3

Add the permissions

Add threads_basic, threads_content_publish, threads_read_replies, threads_manage_replies, threads_manage_insights and threads_manage_mentions.
4

Set up webhooks

Under Webhooks, subscribe the replies and mentions fields with the Webhook callback URL and Webhook verify token shown here.
5

Save your app ID and secret

Use the Threads app ID and secret from Use cases → Access the Threads API → Settings — not the main Meta app ID. Paste them here and click Save. The secret is stored securely and never shown again; leave it blank later to keep it.
6

Go live

Submit the app for review and publish it so every customer can connect. Until then, only accounts added as Threads testers can connect and receive replies.

Troubleshooting / Technical Notes

  • Customers can’t connect. Check the app ID and secret and that the redirect URL matches exactly.
  • Replies and mentions don’t arrive. Webhooks need the app in Live mode with advanced access, and the webhook URL and verify token must match what is shown here.
  • “Missing fields.” Enter both the Threads app ID and the app secret.
