What is this?

The TikTok OAuth tab holds the TikTok API for Business app that powers the whole TikTok channel: account login, publishing, direct messages, comments, mentions and analytics. Each platform registers its own app with TikTok; your customers then connect their TikTok Business Account from the Channels page with one login.
This tab requires the TikTok channel add-on. If your plan doesn’t include it, the tab shows a locked state. Contact support or purchase the add-on to enable it. Only TikTok Business Accounts can connect.

What can I do here?

  • Enter the App ID, App secret and TikTok account holder authorization URL
  • Copy the OAuth redirect URI and Webhook callback URL to register in TikTok
  • Subscribe webhooks so post status, messages, comments and mentions reach the platform
  • Verify the publishing media URL so customers can publish videos and photos
  • Turn TikTok On or Off for your customers

How to use it

1

Create the TikTok app

In TikTok API for Business, create a developer app and select the TikTok Accounts permissions you need: profile and insights, publishing, comments, mentions and Business Messaging. Business Messaging also needs TikTok’s access form and data-security review (plus the US review for US accounts).
2

Register the URLs and submit

Register the OAuth redirect URI (HTTPS, no query string) and the Webhook callback URL shown on this page in the app, then submit the app for TikTok’s review.
3

Save your credentials

After approval, enter the App ID, App secret and the TikTok account holder authorization URL — copy it from the TikTok developer portal under My Apps → App Detail → Basic Information; it already contains the approved permissions. The secret is stored securely and never shown again — leave it blank later to keep it. Turn Enable TikTok on and click Save settings.
4

Subscribe the webhooks

Click Subscribe webhooks. TikTok will then send post status, direct message, comment and mention events for every connected account. If some types fail (Not subscribed: …), check that the app has those permissions and try again.
5

Verify the publishing media URL

TikTok pulls every published video and photo from a URL you’ve verified. Under Publishing media URL, choose Domain or URL prefix, enter where your platform’s uploads are served from, and click Add. Then publish the signature TikTok returns — a DNS TXT record for a domain, or a file named as shown under the URL prefix — and click Verify. The verified URL is used as the Media URL. Until it’s set, customers can’t publish.

Troubleshooting / Technical Notes

  • The tab shows a locked state. The TikTok channel add-on isn’t active on your plan.
  • “Missing required fields.” App ID, app secret and authorization URL are all required.
  • OAuth fails for customers. Check the App ID, secret and authorization URL, and that the redirect URI in the app matches exactly.
  • Customers can’t publish. The media URL isn’t verified yet, or the app lacks the publishing permissions.
  • “TikTok could not verify it yet.” Check the DNS record or file is published exactly as shown, and try Verify again.
  • Messages aren’t arriving. Subscribe the webhooks, and make sure the app has Business Messaging access. It isn’t available for accounts registered in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK.
